Our Projects Youth Project Selection of Participants
Selection of Participants PDF Print E-mail

LeapForWord approaches night colleges in the city and discusses the intent & the methodology of the project with the authorities. Depending on the interest levels and support of the college authorities, these discussions are followed by presentations for the target audience (Second year graduate students).

If invited from hereon, all the interested candidates undergo pre-selection interview to understand their

  1. Financial condition
  2. Current level of Spoken English
  3. Expectations from the course

The pre-selection is conducted by the trainers themselves, thereby helping them better understand if they will be able to do justice to the participants’ time & expectations.

If an interested participant is financially better-off, then we advise him/her to avail the services of private institutes which offer training in Spoken English. Additionally, if the participant at the interview stage is found to be at levels where our course will not add sufficient incremental value, then again s/he is advised not to opt for the course. Though preference is given to weaker students, there is a lower cap on the current level of spoken English. Basic understanding of English Grammar and at least some amount of familiarity with English is desired.

Our promise and the participant’s expectations are made clear at the interview stage itself. Though at the end of the course, we forward the CVs of successful participants to employers (we try to offer interview opportunities on a best effort basis), we do not offer any employment guarantee.
